5th Grade Reading List

Dear Future Fifth Grader,

In preparing yourself for fifth grade, I would like for you to keep up your summer reading skills by reading at least 2 books over the summer.

These books may be purchased at most bookstores.  They may have to be ordered, so you might want to call first.  If you choose to check the books out of the public library, make sure that you take notes because you will complete activities over the books when school begins.  You would benefit from having your own copy of the book so that you can review the story before the activities.

I am looking forward to having you next year in class.  I will have many fun and exciting activities planned for you.  Have a wonderful summer and I will see you next year.

                                  Happy Reading!!!

                                   Mrs. Saunders

**  If you have read any of these books before, or they have been read to you, you are encouraged to choose another book.  All of these books are on the Scholastic Reader program, and you will be allowed to take the test upon returning to school.  If you have taken the test before, you will not be allowed to take it again.
