Parent/Teacher Organization

Clint Parnell is the A.F. Bridges 2008-09 TSSAA Athletic Director of the Year.  The faculty and staff here at Goodpasture see his hard work every day, but it's great that the state at large does as well.

Not only does Clint make sure our sports programs are taken care of, but he is also a great person who will go out of the way and help those in need.

Usually when a Number One seed plays an eighth (last) seed in the high school playoffs, there is usually a lop sided score that follows. No one told the Grundy County Yellow Jackets.

 With school's first day fast approaching, registration will be Monday August 10th, 2009 for parents to sign their children up for the next year at Goodpasture Christian School.

The season ended this year at the championship for the state title but that hasn't stopped the Seniors that have graduated. They all played in an All-Star annual game and here is what Coach Phillips had to say about the game.

Even though the Goodpasture baseball season ended once they lost in the state tournament this year, the players are starting to receive awards for all of their great play this year. To view the story the Tennessean wrote up about the All-Midstate team, go here, All-Midstate Team

The GCS PTO will hold a GCS Uniform Consignment Sale on May 8th in the Middle School gym. The sale will be open to any GCS family, with consignors shopping at the pre-sale. Consignors will receive 70% of their items sold. The remaining 30% will be used to establish the Gilbert Drake Memorial Fund. The fund will assist GCS families who have suffered a hardship during the school year.

Spring & Fall programs such asBaseball, Softball, Soccer and Football fans, players and students willenjoy a new building between the baseball and softball fields. Construction equipment are being used to dig a hole where the Clubhouse is going to be located. The PTO is accepting Nominations for Officers and Representatives for next year.  If you would like to nominate someone for these positions, you can drop off your nominations in the Elementary Office or you can send an email to CMHTINSLEY@COMCAST.NET.  All nominations or suggestions need to be in by Wednesday, April 13th.  Below are brief descriptions of the duties for the different officers and representatives.  There are also several committees that would love more volunteers to assist.

Calling all parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and friends!!! The PTO and Student Council have teamed up for Valentine’s. We will be selling heart shaped Mylar balloons that will be delivered on Friday, February 13th. The cost will be $3 per balloon and there is an area on the order form for a personalized message to be included with your balloon. We will begin taking pre-orders immediately, and will continue to accept orders through the morning of the 13th.

Office Depot has started a program to give Goodpasture credit towards schools supplies whenever YOU make a purchase of qualifying school supplies.
