Goodpasture cheerleaders win at Jamfest

The varsity and middle school cheerleading squads at Goodpasture Christian School took home awards at the Nov. 10 Jamfest Cheerleading Competition.

The middle school squad placed first in their division of middle school level 3. They also received a silver bid to the Jamfest Nationals.HS & MS GCS Cheerleaders at Jamfest

The varsity squad placed first in their division of high school level 3 with a final score of 8.140. This was the highest score given to any team in the first session of competition, school squads and all-star squads combined.

The varsity also won the Most Entertaining Squad of the first session, which is selected by the judges. They also won the School Cheer Champion, which is given to the best school squad at the competition, and they were the only squad in the first session of competition to receive a gold bid to Jamfest Nationals.

The varsity squad competed against schools locally and from Kentucky.

The middle school squads consist of 17 members from the seventh and eighth grades.

The varsity squad consists of 22 members from grades 9–12.

Brandy McWilliams coaches both squads as well as a team of coaches at Prime Tyme Athletics in Hendersonville, where the squads train.
