Eighth Grade Rotation Classes

Eighth Grade Rotation Classes

Computers: The first three weeks of class consist of a review of keyboarding skills and the creating, saving, and printing of documents. During the next three week period of this rotation, the students will work on preparing databases. The final three weeks will be spent learning how to prepare spreadsheets. Grades will be based entirely upon daily lessons. All daily work will be done on the computer, stored in a folder, and folders will be checked each week.

Music: During the 9-week period spent in music, students study 2nd year music theory and history from a workbook. Students are required to do reports on composers and on musical styles. Grades for the class are based upon the notebook and workbook material, classwork, quizzes, and tests. Purchase of a $6.00 workbook is required.  Visit the class page.

Vocabulary: The purpose of the vocabulary class is to improve students vocabulary skills. Approximately 100 words are introduced during the nine weeks. The meaning and spelling of each word will be learned as well as how to use the word in sentences. Students will be using notecards to write out the words and definitions. Help students by asking questions from the notecards. The intent of this class is to improve the standardized test scores for our students.

Speech: Students are taught different types of speeches. Each student is required to give several speeches to the class during the 9 weeks.
