Goodpasture Sports Program is on the Rise

Spring & Fall programs such asBaseball, Softball, Soccer and Football fans, players and students willenjoy a new building between the baseball and softball fields. Construction equipment are being used to dig a hole where the Clubhouse is going to be located. Cougar's Sports Future

We are excited to announce the beginning of construction of a muchneeded facility in our athletic complex.  Our spring sports are in needof a space for public restrooms, concessions, girls' dressingfacilities, coaches' offices and storage.  This building will serve ourstudents involved in fall and spring sports including baseball,softball, soccer, football and track.  I would invite those of you whohave recognized this need and are in a financial position to do so, tomake your tax deductible gift to this necessary addition to ourphysical plan.  This investment will benefit all of our s

New York City Art Trip Successful

On February 4-6, 70 high school art students along with 25 adults traveled with Steven Hayes to New York City for a little education, entertainment, and shopping. This was the fourth time that the art classes have experienced this exciting New York field trip and was the largest group we have ever taken.

Animals at Goodpasture

The Bureau of Lectures is an organization group that presented a show called "Animals for the Tropical Rain Forrest" at Goodpasture on Monday March 23rd. The High School and Pre-K - 6 enjoyed these two 45 minute shows.

PTO Seeks Nominations

The PTO is accepting Nominations for Officers and Representatives for next year.  If you would like to nominate someone for these positions, you can drop off your nominations in the Elementary Office or you can send an email to CMHTINSLEY@COMCAST.NET.  All nominations or suggestions need to be in by Wednesday, April 13th.  Below are brief descriptions of the duties for the different officers and representatives.  There are also several committees that would love more volunteers to assist.

Lady Cougars begin 2009 Season

Congratulations to the softball team on their 8-1 win over Sycamore and 9-0 win over Lavergne on Monday March 9 at Drakes Creek. Stephanie Nidiffer gave up 3 hits and struck out 10 to pick up both wins in the doubleheader. Mimi Cartwright closed the 2nd game to seal the win. In the opener Kelsey Cartwright and Brittany Elmore each had 2 hits and Paige Neely drove in 3 runs to pace the Lady Cougar 9-hit attack that was highlighted by a long home run by Tiffany Hibbs. In game 2, every Lady Cougar hitter had at least 1 hit in the 11 hit attack.

Date Set for Class of '89 -20 Year Reunion

20 year reunion for the class of 1989 is scheduled for September 26th. We are planning a picnic mid-day for the entire family and a dinner for the adults in the evening. The following people are on the committee and have agreed to be contact people. Please contact them if you haven't received anything in the mail yet.

Soccer Alumni Game

GHS Soccer Alumni gameThe annual Soccer Alumni Game took place this past Saturday.  Over 25 alumni players showed up to participate in the game.  The 2009 version of the team played against the alumni and defeated them with a 4-3 score.  Alumni from the class of 1999 through the class of 2008 competed in the game.

Winter Guard Places 2nd

 

The Goodpasture Winterguard is in the middle of their 2009 competitive season and recently placed second at two consecutive SCGC events.  At Indepedence High School's competition "Rhythm and Silk", the girls finished second out of their class of eight.  At Clarksville High School's competition, the girls finished second out of three and were less than one point away from first place.  Congratulations!
