Class of '98 Reunion

The Class of 1998's 10 year reunion was held at Events at 1418 on Church St. downtown.  45 classmates from the class of '98 attended.  GHS class of 98 reunionWe had such a great time reminiscing, watching a class of '98 slideshow, and awarding prizes to the class for answering "Goodpasture Quiz" questions.  What a wonderful evening to catch up with old friends and learn about where the last 10 years have taken us.  We can't wait until our next event!

Goodpasture's Marcus Buggs added to NFL roster

Marcus BuggsFormer Goodpasture football star Marcus Buggs (class of 2003) has been signed to the active roster of the Buffalo Bills for Sunday's game with the Miami Dolphins. Marcus moves from the Bills practice squad of which he had been a part since his graduation from Vanderbilt last season. Marcus becomes the 1st former Goodpasture football player to make an active NFL roster.

Goodpasture receives TSSAA recognition

Congratulations to all of our students, teachers, and coaches for receiving a Doing What's Right Award from the TSSAA in recognition of the high ideals of citizenship and sportsmanship of Goodpasture Christian School for the 2007-08 school year.  This award is given annually to schools who demonstrate good ethics, integrity, and conduct throughout their competitions.  Thank you to everyone who made this recognition possible.

5th - 6th Basketball Tryouts

5th and 6th grade basketball try-outs will be held in the high school gym for both boys and girls on Friday, October 24, from 3:15 - 4:30.  Coaches will communicate additional information at that time.

Congratulations to the Lady Cougar Volleyball team for a great season!

Congratuations to Lauren Peeler for making the 2nd team All-District team; to Nikki Bagwell and Kristyn Edwards for making the 1st team All-District team; and to Kelsey Sauer for being named Co-MVP of the district. Kristyn Edwards also received recognition for the All-Tournament team.

Middle School Volleyball 1st in Conference

Goodpasture Middle School Volleyball team 08Congratulations to the 7th and 8th grade girls’ volleyball team on their incredible season.  They were undefeated in their CCVA conference and also came in first in the conference tournament.

Earlier in the season they won the Middle School Play Day tournament at Riverdale High School against tough competition such as Woodland Middle School.  They came in second in the “Battle of the Boro” tournament at Riverdale High School.  Their final victory against Ezell Harding gave the girls an overall 24-2 record.  

Katelyn Atkinson and Abby Honeycutt were named “All Conference” and Jasmine Robinson was chosen “MVP” for the tournament. We are definitely looking forward to seeing what this group of girls will do in high school volleyball.  Way to go Lady Cougars!!!

Mock Trial Team Participates in Scales Project

The Goodpasture Christian School Mock Trial Team participated in the Scales project on October 2, 2008. The Scales project is a Tennessee Supreme Court initiative designed to educate students about the Judicial Branch of government. The Goodpasture students were escorted by Judge Carol Soloman of the 8th Circuit Court and attorney Jason Callen. The students were able to witness a live supreme court case. Mock Trial coach Mrs. Laura Darnall was presented an award for participation in the event.

Four Students Participate in Nashville Youth Presidential Debate

Seniors Kelsey Sauer, Lauren Gaines, Courtney Sanders, and Dalia Harmon participated in the 2008 Nashville Youth Presidential Debate this past Wednesday night.  The event was attended by about 50 students from High Schools around Nashville.  A member from each of the presidential candidates' teams debated questions that were submitted by Nashville teenagers.  The event, held at The Parthenon, was intended to inform and involve teenagers in the coming election and was a part of the buildup to the Presidential Debate next Tuesday at Belmont University.

Middle School Girls Soccer Ties Lipscomb

The Goodpasture Middle School girls Soccer team played a very competitive game against David Lipscomb this past Tuesday. The Lady Cougars maintained a one goal lead until the mustangs tied up the contest with just 3 minutes left in the first half. In the second half, Ayesha Harris made save several key saves in goal and neither team managed to score a goal in the second half as the contested ended in a 1-1 tie.The Lady Cougars travel to T. W. Hunter in Hendersonville on October the 9th for their next game.
