Mid-West Tennessee Marching Band Competition Results

Goodpasture 08 marching bandLast weekend, the Goodpasture Marching Cougars had a very successful competition!

Competing with classes all larger than themselves, the Cougars took first place in the band division of the competition. Also, the percussion took first place in their class, and third out of seventeen overall. The Color Guard also did very well for themselves, capturing first place in their class, and second overall.

Lady Cougar Volleyball

The Lady Cougars brought home two wins this week. The first was a decisive win over Ezell Harding, as they dominated winning 3 games to 2. Kelsey Sauer and Nikki Bagwell led in kills with 10 each; Kristyn Edwards made all the kills possible with 32 assists, and Lauren Peeler and Sauer led the defense with 9 digs. Helping the defense out was Bagwell with 4 blocks.

Thursday night's game was their last home game and senior night as well. They dominated on court once again as they defeated Nashville Christian 3-2. The Lady Cougars are currently 8 and 1 and are ranked 2nd in their district.

Goodpasture Football On CSS

goodpasture helmetComcast Sports South will be televising the game against David Lipscomb at 7 pm.  In the greater-Nashville area they broadcast on channel 27.  We still need to see all the Cougars in the stands, so come out and record the game at home!

Middle School Girls Soccer has a great week

The Middle School girls soccer team had a terrific week. On Monday, September 22, they tied T. W. Hunter 2-2 as Lyndsey Moulton scored both goals. Tuesday, September 23, they played Davidson Academy, a team that had a 5 -1 so far this year (and beat us last year 7-0) and won 2-1. Once again Lyndsey Moulton scored both goals. The defense is anchored by 4 8th graders who all returned from last years team. The win gave Middle School girls team a 1-1-1 record on the year.

Golf Team Finishes Successful Season

Congratulations to the Goodpasture Golf Team for a great season. The boys team completed their season yesterday by finishing 4th in the regional tournament held at Montgomery Bell State Park. Senior and Captain Alex Cox shot a final round 75 which tied him for fourth place individually.

Golf Team Captures 2nd in District Tournament

Congratulations to Goodpasture Boys golf team for finishing 2nd in the District Tournament yesterday held at Riverside Golf Center on Farm Lakes course. The team shot 297 to finish 2 strokes behind CPA who shot 295. The team now advances to the Regional Tournament next week at Montgomery Bell State Park on Monday 9/22/08. Zack Pursell finished 2nd place individual and Alex Cox finished 4th.

Also next week Nicole Pappas and Rebecca Jernigan advance to the Regional Tournament by finishing in the top 5 individual girls at the district tournament.
