Technology continues to be an industry that is vital to the world around us. Goodpasture embraces cutting-edge technology to help teachers teach and students learn. We fully believe that enabling students with a robust infrastructure, hands-on training, and revolutionary devices equips them with the skills needed for life. Low class sizes allow for quick and effective filtering, teacher monitoring, and one-on-one support. Furthermore, students have the opportunity to take Computer Applications, C++ Programming, and a technology class, mentoring the next generation of the IT workforce.
Even our youngest children are provided with the opportunity to work with technology. Children in the Great Beginnings Toddler Program are given time each week to work with the iPads. Beginning with our preschool students and continuing through the sixth grade, students attend class in the elementary computer lab once a week for instructions on using software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Students are taught keyboaridng and Internet research skills along with software that enhances the classroom curriculum. Fifth and sixth grade students are given the opportunity to create movies using Ipads and /or a video camera then uploading it to edit into a final product that is given to students to share at home.
Goodpasture students in grades seven through twelve use iPads as an instructional tool to enhance learning in the classroom and at home. All teachers have undergone training to make full use of the innovative and transformative capabilites that iPads have to offer. Each student in grades seven through the twelve purchase their own iPad following the guideline on THIS PAGE.
