Goodpasture Christian School offers speech and language therapy for students needing services. Speech therapy is offered for all students from Great Beginnings through 12th grade. Both individual and small group therapy are provided for students. Parents may choose to have their child receive services once or multiple times a week.
Speech and language therapy sessions have the benefits of being held on campus and during the school day. Inclusion as well as pullout methods are utilized. The cost of the therapy is more reasonable than the current rate for private services. Parents sign a contract and are billed monthly through Blackbaud for the sessions.
Speech and language therapy is beneficial to several distinct groups of students. All of the following children could certainly benefit from either the private or small group sessions: students needing articulation therapy for sound mispronunciations or omissions, students who stutter, students desiring accent reduction, students with voice disorders, students with receptive or expressive language disorders, or students needing help with study skills, organization skills, and/or problem solving skills.
